Kitakata is made from Gampi fiber which is one of the three main materials used in washi making.
Gampi fiber is very fine and has high gloss. It has similar texture to the paper for etching yet has warmth of washi. The paper has a very smooth surface with the special coating to accentuate the beauty of Gampi fiber after inkjet printing.
